On June 12 the “Panathlon Day” is celebrated all over the world, wherever there is a Panathlon International club. An initiative is promoted to remember that in that distant June 12, 1951 in Venice this voluntary organization was born.
Panathlon International associates about 300 Panathlon Clubs worldwide with 36,626 members since 1951.
🖋Panathlon is recognized by the International Olympic Committee with resolution 11/6/1982. The main aim of Panathlon International is the achievement of the sporting ideal and the establishment of its cultural and moral values as a means towards the development and advancement of the individual and solidarity between men and people.
The PCU Committee is the university sport oriented platform of Panathlon International.

At a time when sporting activities and competitions are practically canceled, worldwide, international Panathlon leaders are on a panel to reflect on this whole situation and the future recovery, in addition to the other challenges in ethics and fairplay in sport.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the PCU Committee decided to postpone 3 events:
– The 21st PCU Games in Antwerp (Belgium) will now be held from 14 to 16 October 2020;
– The Yerun Sport Days in Antwerp (Belgium) will now be held from 14 to 16 October 2020;
– The 2nd PCU Bridge Trophy in Antwerp (Belgium) will now be held from 6 to 8 November 2020.
The PCU Committee will continue its work with participants to provide them with updated information.

The PCU Secretary General Anicet Gabriel Kotchofa meets the IOC President Thomas Bach during FISU Executive Committee in Laussane.
On February 18 in Antwerp the yearly Panathlon & PCU Antwerp Sports Personality Awards were awarded.
Winner of the Panathlon Fair Play Award was Gert Vande Broek, coach of the Belgian National Volleyball Women team.
As each year three UAntwerp student-athletes were nomited for the “Francis Van Loon” award. The award was won by Ju Jitsu-star Marion Decrop. Other nominees were Sebastien De Meulemeester (Swimming) and Lise Jaques (Badminton). The award is ment to highlight all the hard work spent by student-athletes combining their studies and their sports.
The PCU Secretary General Gabriel Kotchofa visited the Samara State University of Economics, Russia. He discussed with students topics of education, international cooperation and volunteering.
