Panathlon International is headquartered in Rapallo, Italy. We were lucky to have a short tour around the office of the General Secretariat right before its closing from June 18 to 21 and June 24-25 for some renewal. The Villa will become even more beautiful soon.
The Panathlon meeting with the participation of the CUS Roma Tor Vergata representative took place at the HQ Panathlon International in Rapallo, Italy. The meeting was hold to discuss further cooperation in university sport. Meeting was attended by:

On 12 June we celebrate the proclamation of the Panathlon Day, a date to remember of our growth. Congratulations to all Panathlon Family, represented in 24 countries and 12 districts and our PCU Committee network in 22 countries.

Last weekend was full of the events hosted by the Panathlon Club La Malpensa.
On Thursday, April 4, the Panathlon Club La Malpensa presented an award to the LIUC student and professional cyclist Silvia Pollicini.
The prize is intended for the LIUC students of the third year education of the course “Management of sport and sporting events”.
The Committee of the District Presidents was hold in Castellanza (Varese, Italy) on Friday, April 5. The Presidents of the Districts Austria, Brazil, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Switzerland and Uruguay attended meeting.
PI Extraordinary General meeting took place on Saturday, April 6, in Auditorium “Università Carlo Cattaneo” LIUC – Castellanza. The meeting was held for the purpose of elections of the Constitution and Arbitration Board Members.
We go to Buenos Aires 2018!
Panathlon International will be presented at the upcoming 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires to promote the ethical and educational values of sport. Special stand is organised at the Roca Park where various activities will take place.
The stand will be inaugurated on Sunday, October 7 at 14:00 during a brief ceremony. The International President Pierre Zappelli will participate in the event and will be accompanied by various personalities of the Panathlon Club of Buenos Aires.
At the inauguration of the stand on October 7 Francis Gabet, Director of the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage, which is the IOC’s department responsible for the organizations recognized by the IOC, will also be present.
Smart up that body and brain! Panathlon International together with ENGSO and the European Lotteries organised BeActive squat & talk event during the European Week of Sport.
The program united squats and talks by including the simple but argh-so-effective Bring Sally up challenge and mind-opening discussions on gender, money and physical activity.
If the first day of BeActive squat and talk was more about physical activities, performing some Bring Sally Up Challenges, led by FitFaza. The second day today was mostly talking, with a special focus on gender and sport. The Panathlon International was an active partner in organising this event. Prof. Yves Vanden Auweele from Panathlon Leuven gave a speech about integrity in Sport.
The exposition of the 2nd Antwerp University and Panathlon Drawing Contest was held together with the 15th International Graphic Art Competition PI – Domenico Chiesa Foundation. The artworks were exposed in the Palagio dei Capitani di Parte Guelfa, a historical building in Florence, central Italy. The exposition Inauguration was made on 15 June 2018 during the 21st Panathlon International Congress by the Chairman of the Selection Commission, Prof. Dr. Alain Verschoren of the University of Antwerp. On 16 June 2018 the drawings were also presented to the members of the Panathlon International General Assembly. During the Congress and General Assembly the voting for the Honourable Commendation of the Panathlon Congress and General Assembly was organised. By a considerable majority vote, the drawing «Fair Play Volley» made by Marcos Santos Magnani da Silva from Brazil was chosen.
On June 12th, 1951, the sports volunteer organization was born. Today Panathlon International counts approximately 300 Clubs in the world with approximately 10 thousand members.
From 2018 the “Panathlon Day” is officially established and will be celebrated on June 12 each year.

The 21st International Congress “Education in and through sport – Connecting values, physical literacy and wellbeing” and the 48th General Assembly of Panathlon International will take place on 15-17 June 2018 in Florence, Italy.
A PCU Committee delegation will attend the Congress. The exposition of the Antwerp University and Panathlon Drawing Contest will be held during the Panathlon International Congress in the Palagio dei Capitani di Parte Guelfa.
We want to highlight one more time that the 2018 Enrico Prandi Trophy for Fair Play was awarded to London South Bank University (England). The Enrico Prandi Trophy is a prestigious award, unique in the world of university sport and the highest merit a university can achieve in relation to ethics in university sport.
Also on this day the PCU Committee is congratulating Enrico Prandi with his birthday!
Enrico Prandi is the Past President of Panathlon International, former member of the International Olympic Committee Cultural Commission and former President of the Italian Basketball League. He initiated in 2010 the idea to create a university platform within Panathlon International to promote ethics in sport also within the worldwide university community.
