From 19 to 26 April during the PCU Bridge Trophy and the PCU Games 2019, the exposition of the 3rd Antwerp University and Panathlon Drawing Contest, devoted to University Sport and Fair Play, was set up on 3 different campuses of the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
From 19 to 22 April the exposition was presented at the heart of the City Campus, in the magnificent, historic “Hof van Liere” building. This 16th-century building in the Brabant Gothic style belongs to the cultural-historical patrimony of Antwerp and Flanders. The participants from 8 different universities enjoyed the Drawing Contest exposition in the unique atmosphere of a historic building that hosted the first PCU Bridge tournament.
Favorite of the exhibition during the Bridge Trophy became the drawing “Olympic Respect” by Federico Aguiar from EASD Ramón Falcón (Spain).
On Wednesday, 24th April, the 15 best drawings were exposed in the hall of the Aula Rector Dhanis, the biggest auditorium of the City Campus.
During the PCU Games acredditations more than 600 attendees had a chance to see the exposition and to vote for their favorite drawing. At the Opening Ceremony a voting round for the “Honorable Commendation of the PCU Games 2019 Participants” was organized. The highest number of participants voted for the drawing “Jump into the unknown” by Maria Makacheva from St. Mary’s Shelter in Moscow (Russia), only a few votes ahead of the drawing “The impossible is possible” by Anastasia Garkovets from Kyiv (Ukraine).
During the PCU Games Closing Ceremony on Friday 26 April the drawings were exhibited in the beautiful building of the University of Antwerp Grauwzusters Cloister, where the Head of Delegations of the PCU Games teams, the Aurora teams and Yerun teams enjoyed the exposition.
In general the audience noted that the drawings complemented the historical interiors of the University and, at the same time, the modern program of the student competitions.
