Panathlon International at EU Sport Forum

Panathlon International has taken a new and important step towards its integration among the most important partner organizations of the European Commission.

In the Hague, the Netherlands on 9-10 March 2016, the International President Giacomo Santini and European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics signed the Protocol of PI Accession to the EU Sport Forum.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General Leo Bozzo and the President of the District Belgium Thierry Zintz.

The partners of the Forum are leading representatives from international and European sport federations, the Olympic movement, European and national sport umbrella organisations and other sport-related organisations.

This year’s Forum tackled key issues facing EU sport including how sport can support the integration of migrants and how to ensure good governance for the world of sport.

Participants debated EU sport policy and preparations were made for the 2016 edition of the European Week of Sport.
