Panathlon in the EU Transparency Register
An important recognition came to Panathlon International by the European Commission.
The Commissioner for education, culture, youth and sport Tibor Navracsics met President of Panathlon International Giacomo Santini, accompanied by President of District Belgium Thierry Zintz, to verify the possibility of including Panathlon among the associations partners of the European Union for sports policy.
President Santini presented Panathlon, its history, its purpose and its aims. Prof. Zintz explained the project to insert Panathlon in the group of experts who inspire and assist the Commissioner in the formulation of legislative proposals in the field of sport and youth.
The commissioner was interested in the initiative which aims to establish an antenna of Panathlon in Brussels to be featured in sporting events taking place in the European institutions and also to build a team of experts able to assist clubs and members in the presentation of European projects.
After the meeting Panathlon International was included in the EU Transparency Register, essential in order to be able to cooperate with the European institutions.
